newbie question - getting started with digital tv

Hi all,

petew posted a while ago: ".. but the absolute best picture you can get is the off-the-airwave PBS alternate signal--and you don't need a cable or a dish to get it--even a bent coathanger sticking out of the back of your receiver is enough to get this unbelievably life-like picture!"

How do I start? Finally cancelled cable today; too much hassle.

I came across a DWIN LD-1 digital IDTV box. Can I use this to get started for receiving PBS digital programming?

Any pointers on how to get free digital programming would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
