DVD- using Component or VGA

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

Many DVD players come with VGA output. Is there i big difference in quality using VGA instead of Component. I do not have one of those player but was just curious to find out the difference.
Any information on the subject would be appreciated.
