Better video helps justify the price difference a little, better audio could turn the key. I'll probably move on the 5900 if it's better on Redbook than my CDP (Cambridge DiscMaster transport and IsoDAC, connected with an extra clock link. Sounds better than you might think).

One feature on the 5900 that interests me is the firewire output that I've been told will allow a m-c hi-rez DAC upgrade down the road.

Thanks, that's a good tip, as I'd previously discovered. Lots of info there, but I don't like the format of the board. Very poor layout for continuity, and a lot of video talk that's greek to me.
