Good NTSC (nondigital) tuner?

208.42.91.164

I have a new Sony XBR Trinitron which I've been using to receive broadcase NTSC channels. I am trying a new Phillips DVDR75 DVD recorder which has a monitor function. ( Can be used as a tuner. ) It also allows me to feed the broadcast audio as a digital source directly into the HT processor. The broadcast picture and sound using the Phillips is much improved over the tuner in the Sony. The picture is sharper with much less digital (checkerboard) distortion. The Dolby channel separation and general clarity of the audio is much improved also. What is the best NTSC tuner avalible? It could be incorporated into a recording device.
