Best Interlaced DVD Player under a Grand

Took back a marantz 8400 universal player today because the sacd and cd playback werent up to snuff,but miss the superb interlaced playback.Any under a grand players comparable to the Marantz?Not looking for a universal player anymore just dvd playback.thanks in advance
