Re: Does a HDTV cable box replace a HDTV reciever/tuner?

Depends on what programming you want and what is being offered by your cable co. Go to the below web site to find out what digital (but may not all be HDTV) stations are available in your area. Then find out which ones will be carried by the cable people. Then look at the sat dish options for their programming for a comparison.

My local cable co., Cox, doesn't offer all the locals HD stations yet. I compliment their HD box with an OTA/HD Zenith receiver and 4228 antenna, feeding into another input of my TV. Check out the AVS HDTV hardware forum for more info.
