Help I Need a New VHS VCR

My Sony VHS machine just broke. I borrowed a friends 2 year old Mitshubishi HS-U580 and I am not impressed. Can someone recommend a VCR in the 200-300 price range that has a good tuner built in. Someone said the JVC DVHS is a great machine even for regular VHS. I saw them go for 500.00. I don't know if I want to spend this much money. Also, if you buy an old used Sony SVHS you don't know the condition of the heads. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
