DVD-R and DVD+R

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

I got a DVD Recorder for Christmas. It records both DVD-R and DVD+R.
I read that DVD-R plays on more DVD players, but that DVD+R records about 10% quicker.
Is there any other advantage of DVD+R? Seems like DVD-R is the way to go.
