720p source solutions ?

I want the ability to take Standard definition and high definition broadcast from Cable(and/or satellite and/or OTA) and also DVD sources and feed my display a single signal at 720p or 1080i, preferably with DVI but also with component video. The de-interlacing/scaling needs to be of the same caliber as good Faroudja/Silicon image implementations.

At the moment I have a cable HD tuner feeding 1080i to the (720p-native HD2 DLP) display. I think a Meridian G98 DVD-A player which does upsampling (HDMI/component) and includes a component video input might work. This solution is a tad pricey ($6000 or so). Are there other solutions I might consider ?

Thanks
