Either can work -- depends upon how big you want the screen, how dark you can get the room, how close you want to sit, etc.

However, what ever your choice, don't buy without looking at DLP displays. They come in both projector and conventional "box" configuration. In the "TV set" configuration, they are quite new. DLP does NOT require convergence and does NOT degrade with time. All other technologies are now obsolete.
