I'd suggest listening to a definitive set-up for that price range. Their towers have built-in subs and the bipole set-up provides for great ambience. The downside is that they aren't great for straight music listening in my view but I think (for the money) that they are hard to beat for home theater. You might check out the recent Stereophile (or TAS?) -- I think that there was a review of their new flagship towers.
If you decide to go that route, I'd suggest you get them used from audiogon and save yourself a bunch of money.
