Static showing up using HTPC to projector? Help!!

I just received my Studio Experience 2HD PJ and would appreciate any insight as to what my problem may be.
I temporarily have the HTPC plugged in to a outlet in the room, it will end up under the stairs where separate dedicated lines will be run. I currently have huge amounts of constant static in the display so I have to assume the power the pc is using is dirty. Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot that would be welcomed!
It is definately the pc, I have not seen it on my 15" monitor through vga using the same outlet. Although I did see static on my Sony 32" thru s-video from the 9800 Radeon card. I was just thinking that it might be specific to the DVI connection and I have seen sparkles before, this is not it. Hope it is not specific to the power supply or card in the pc...
It looks like static both horizontal and vertical, the horizontal is not pattern specific and is uniform. The vertical "static" appears as lines evenly spaced left to right and thin.
