Have you calibrated your set? It makes a world of difference!

Calibration is relatively easy to perform with Digital Video Easentials which you can pick up for approx. 15 bucks. I found the best price at deepdiscountdvd.com. Go straight to chaper 7 and invest 35-45 minutes of you time. Whatever TV you end up using, this DVD is an essential must have tool.

A quality DVD player is also a worth while investment but the real jump in PQ will be with a quality progressive scan capable set. BTW, there is no need to spend much and there are lots of suggestions at the AVS Forum.

An inexpensive tweak that has helped my PQ in no small way was to replace all the cheap power cords with shielded Voltex 18 awg. This includes the HD cable box, DVD player and screen, Sharp 37" LCD. You may require to pick up IEC adapters to do this.
