No Prob w/ India Here

About 18 months ago I called a computer company's 800 service number because my computer was dying. I got a woman who spoke beautiful English with a slight accent that I couldn't place and didn't think anything of. The connection sounded like she was next door. For about 45 minutes she patiently walked me through various repair procedures (I'm a computer idiot).

One of the procedures involved changing and then changing back the date on the computer. When it came to changing the date back, I forgot what the date was, so I asked her. She said, "Well, it's February 9 [or whatever] here, but I believe it's February 8 there." Which led to my discovering that she was in India, where it was 2 a.m. or 4 a.m.

The woman was far more patient, polite, professional and helpful, and spoke better English, than most here. At the end of the call, I repeatedly thanked her, on the assumption that company might be monitoring the call to rate her performance, and I wanted her to get the credit she deserved. Based on that call, you can outsource to India all you want as far as I'm concerned.
