Are the RCA jacks inputs or outputs? If they're outputs, you can't use them as inputs. If they are inputs, hook the DVD player's L and R audio channels to the satellite receiver (usually red and white RCA connectors to red and white jacks -- color is on the inside of the satellite receiver's jacks) and the video (usually a yellow RCA jack) to the satellite receiver's yellow jack.

To access the DVD players sound and video, you may have to read the satellite receiver's manual. The satellite receiver may need to be off for pass-thru or you may need to select an input on the satellite receiver. It may also depend on how you have the satellite receiver hooked up to the television. It may have to be hooked up via RCA jacks (as opposed to an RF connector) in order to get the DVD player's audio and video to the television through the satellite receiver. Some satellite receivers offer line level-to-RF conversion of the signal.

Like I said, you may have to consult the manual to see how your particular satellite receiver handles such a signal.
