Clark, I am a Republican, and worked on numerous campaigns to get Republicans elected. But to suggest that the FCC, which is chaired by a Republican, appointed by a Republican, which reports directly to a Republican Congress in which Republicans control the committees, and in a Federal Government in which the three branches of government are controlled by Republicans, has become the pawns of Hollings is wrong. Hollings must wield more power than the committee chairs, the majority of congress, and the White House. The fact is that if Republican congressman and George Bush were inclined to end this lunacy, the would do so. Best case is that they are ambivalent, worst case is complicit. If the Republicans were inclined to end this lunacy, they would. The fact that they do not is, to me, evidence of their complicity. They are all chasing the same campaign dollars. It is no wonder that corporations routinely give money to both parties.

You response is akin to entirely blaming the children for wrecking the house while the parents sit around and watch. I say that both need to be taken to the woodshed on this issue.
