For those of you who own this piece, do you have any regrets or problems associated w/ it. I'm currently using an Audio Research ls25 w/ its processor loop connected to a classe ssp25. The amps are a classe 201 and a bridged classe 75 driving b&w 804's, 805's, and htm1. That said, I have roughly $8k invested in preamps & processors and have the opportunity to trade both pieces in for full credit towards any preamp/processor until 4/1/00 and balance on any product until 10/1/01.
My thoughts are to buy the hts standard and leave the $2k balance on hand for sacd/dvda whatever at a later date. I have had the hts in my system for about a week althouh actually only used it for about 2 days- one session lasted for a good 3 hours w/ no fatigue. This is a floor sample and has been at the dealer for over 2 months so I'm assuming its pretty well broken in (ie it displays no brightness thru the 804's which I was concerned w/.) I absolutely love the sound on this piece and it actually blends w/ my system to me better than both the Audio Reseach and the classe. I actually prefer the classe to the AR believe it or not in this system. Still, I find the detail and yes, musicality of the hts absolutely delightful. However, I have not had a good 3 or 4 months w/ this piece which is about how long it took me to realize the AR pre was not for me. So, those of you that have had the hts for a while, what do you think? I appreciate any and all comments. Thanks in advance
