Setting small versus large on surround. what is cutoff? more
I am setting my main speakers to small (B&W DM603 2) since I have a B&W ASW2000 subwoofer. However since I have the B&W DM602 (range 52 Hz upwards) should I set the rear at large or some custom setting since I may then get the effect of lows that are supposed to be heard from the rear actually from the rear instead of from the sub. If I should set it at SMALL then perhaps I am better off with my other pair of speakers B&W601 which has a range of 80 Hz onwards.
thus my question is - how much rear bass am I losing if I use the 601 (range 80 upwards) rather than the 602s (range 52 upwards). If the DD tradition dictates that setting has to be small and I am wasting the additional low end capability of the 602s then I am better off putting it in another room. (I have a gym where I can put it as a main speaker complimented by a sub but since I have a sub in this gym too, I can throw in the 601s as the main speaker there without much degradation for a gym that is :)
Also, one more question - essentially what is the cutoff for large versus small? Thanks. any constructive feedback is appreciated.
