Your HT requirements in the previous post:

Need a new one with 96/24,2ea dig.inputs,1dig. output,S-video all around,hdtv and has a 5ch.stereo mode.Is there one under $1500?

A year from now you might have several choices, but right now I believe that the new Denon AVR-4800 THX Ultra Surround EX receiver comes the closest.

Download the product brochure, technical information paper, owner's manual.

I haven't heard this receiver so I can't comment on its audio and video capabilities other than list features. Please check out Denon's product page for more info. This receiver is about $2K MSRP, but places such as Wholesale AV and World Exchange will have it for less. Anticipate paying ~1.6K, a bit more than your target figure. Some things to consider

1) The Denon AVR-3300 is considerably less if you can live without the frills.

2) Don't know if the component video switching can handle bandwidths beyond 480i.

3) Sure the AVR-4800 is probably a fantastic receiver, but... well... it is still a receiver (if you know what I mean :-).

Best wishes for your HT purchase.

Yours,

--andy
