Re: large/small - where's the bass going in this situation?

I have a Harmon Kardon avr-300. The small setting cuts off low frequency to the mains or center or surrounds at 100 hz. The three are individually selectable. When all are set to large there is no output to the sub. I can play around with the various speakers to see what sounds best. I have my mains set to small, my center to small, and my rears set to small. I use a 15" audiosource sub from 20 to 40 hz and then crossover to two 8" audiosource subs with the high end set to 110 hz. One of the 8" subs is in the front and one in the rear of the room. It is unbelievable in HT and it is excellent with the Eagles DTS DVD Hell Freezes Over (my best source so far).
