If you insist on buying one of the two brands, definitely stay away from Yamaha. They make good receivers, not speakers. But, if you're willing to look at other brands at other stores, there's much better stuff out there for cheaper. What is your price limit? Is size a concern? How loud do you listen? Is really pounding bass important?
