Has anyone ever seen this.....

I have a Toshiba SD-2008 DVD player. When playing DVD's where the action becomes intense the video signal flickers. Usually inconjuction with a rapid change from light to dark segments as in lots of action. The words "Unusable Signal" will be displayed for a split second and then the picture comes back. Nothing ever happens to the audio signal.

I have always used the S-video connections to hook it into my system. Orginally, I directly hooked it into my 36" RCA. Now I am passing the signal through a Denon 3300. The same problem exists.

I called the local repair shop that Toshiba recomends and the tech wants me to bring it in for "Bios Upgrade". Has anyone seen or heard of this before? What about upgrading the bios? I got the feeling that this could be an expensive guessing game.

Any help or comment are GREATLY appreciated as this is really bugging me.
