Upgrade advice. . .

24.163.4.249

Guys I double posted this b/c it is HT, and General.

I am looking to upgrade, and I probably want to upgrade my electronics, since I just got these new KEF's and they are great for what they do. To get much better, I would have to go up pretty far in price.

I have been thinking a lot, and I am not very close to upgrading to a new receiver. Just from the money standpoint. What I was thinking though, is that I am OK with my HT right now. Even though my receiver is not Dolby Digital, it does what I need it to do at the moment.

I was thinking of getting a nice integrated amp. I listened to an Arcam Alpha, and it was really nice! It had a real nice sound. I am looking at Arcam online, and noticing that Alpha series looks competitively priced.

I also thought of getting a regular amp and using the Denon as a pre for a while. Now, my question is: How can I improve my music listening a lot and then still have a clear, easy upgrade path in the future?

I am going to have to do this kind of gradually, b/c of cash and all. I was thinking Arcam amp, but would the Denon as a pre degrade the sound quality a lot?

My system now is:

Denon AVR-2500
Pioneer ElitE PD-65
KEF Q-15's
M&K MX-70B
Panasonic A-310 DVD
Q-95 center

Thanks!!!

B
