My JVC HR-S9600U has the equivalent of sound level meters with ascending lighted bars. (The digital VU meter). I believe it is one of the few. It has much else to recommend it, not the least of which is the tuner. The digital corrections work wonders on all tapes. Can you tell I love it. If not let me state it here. I love the JVC 9600.
