A friend just picked up an Onkyo TX-DS787 receiver with an array of Pinnacle speakers + sub. He wants to invest a maximum of $500. now on cables so that he can replace the Pinnacles sooner rather than later. So, good people, can you suggest wire to complete the setup??
He is interested in audio more than the video so much so that he's content with Rat Shack's flat cable for the rear surrounds. What he needs advice on are the forward connections.
So, he needs to wire together his TV, DVD player, CD player, left, right and center channels, sub, and Turntable.
I realize this is a pretty open ended-zillion variable question BUT he ain't too discerning and, at this point in time, he would be VERY happy with a step up from where he was so long as it doesn't break his bank, (or else he'll incur the wrath of she-who-must-be-obeyed!)
Finally, can you suggest a dealer he can call that would carry a broad selection of wire?
