On a 27 inch analog tv, s-video is fine. You will see some slight improvements on the color but differences will not become very visable until you get to a much larger screens. I would not even worry about component on a 27 inch set. I have a friend who has an 61 inch analog rear projection and he has tried both and went back to s-video because he could not see that much of a difference. It really boils down mainly to image size and the quality of your monitor. On a 27 inch set you would likely see a 5% improvement at most.
