What is a "Receiver" with video switching incorporated called?

I'm still learning. I had always thought of a "Receiver" as an integrated amp with inbuilt AM/FM tuner but I see the term is now applied to HT products incorporating preamp, processor circuitry & amplifier.
What is the term used for a receiver that includes video switching & what are recommended units?
Note that this question is posed as part of my educative process - I'm not actually looking for anything but like to "keep up with the times".
