Well, I was thinking in terms of getting very solid redbook and 24/96 audio playback primarily, with the ability to add a better screen later. And the set isn't *that* bad, it was a fairly expensive RCA when new and has S-video inputs, at least.

My question is still whether you end up watching everything in letterbox based on the player or the software.
