Convergence on rear-projection TVS

Hi,
I just bought a Hitachi rear-projection TV, the 43DX01B. I see color artifacts (mostly green) around black-to-white transitions in black-and-white films (through multiple DVDs on my panasonic DVD player AND the TV's internal tuner).
I've adjusted as best I could the convergence via the TV's front panel, and it seems to line up pretty well (crosshairs). The red and blue beams are adjustable, and the green is fixed.
I've already returned one of these units which was much worse (demo unit).
Is this a problem that all projection TVs have? Can I expect perfect b/w pictures, without any color artifacts?
Also, this is a digital TV - HDTV ready.
