Should I connect the DVD to the TV Too?

24.10.174.32

I'm using a Proceed AVP processor & Proceed PMDT DVD transport with an RCA 32" TV. I have the option of RCA & S-video for video in's on the TV. I'm running S-video from the processor to the TV. What's commonly done with the main video source? Is it run just to the processor or can it be run to the processor & TV (processor for recording distribution & TV for best viewing quality)?

In my situation, I'd be going from the DVD composite in to the TV. How'd switching work in this situation? In other words, how would I switch the video directly to the TV for viewing or to the processor for recording?

Thanx!
Mike
