Question on the JVC AV-36D201/501 televisions

My JVC AV-36D201 is being delivered this week, and while a minor detail, I'm curious. Now I know that Video 2 shares the composite input and the component input. So you can't use both, you must select between the 2.

Now I know there were some televisions that offered simpler component video hook up, but this television just offered such a good picture, others were out of consideration.

Since I will "have" to use S-Video(satellite and S-VHS VCR) and composite(Standard VCR)video, I will run out of television inputs. On my older televisions, Video 1 offered composite and S-Video inputs, but could "not" be used together, with both outputs from an A/V receiver. Are these JVC models any different? Is Video 1 either S-Video or Composite Video, not both when using outputs from an A/V receiver?

I know my current televisions detect a current draw on both inputs, and cause problems where they can't both be connected. I'm hoping the newer televisions don't work that way, and look for a synch signal, then prioritize the S-Video. This way if a standard VHS offers no S-Video signal, the television will default to composite. With S-Video priority, even when both composite and S-Video offer synch signals, the S-Video will be the default. I'm hoping, but it's probably just a pipe dream. If my hope is reality, then I could just use Video 2 for component without needing to turn the component input on and off in the menu according to what video connection I'll need to use.
