A question for you: How is their vision? I have elderly parents where a larger picture is much more important than the resolution, since they can't resolve it anyway. I would opt for the largest screen practical and not worry about flat screen, since it drives the price up very rapidly. My advice, buy a Sony. Great quality, available service and resonably priced (IMO) for conventional TVs.

Just a few thoughts to ponder!
