Generally speaking, the differences between s-video and component are not as great as the differences between s-video and composite. For instance, I notice a tremendous increase in resolution when switching from composite to s-video. When I switch from s-video to component, I actually think it looks worse. Why ? I haven't a clue. Maybe because I used 3 seperate video cables (I had some extra ones) instead of a pre-packaged one like monster cable. Or maybe my projector's component ins are inferior.

What I find interesting with your situation is why your picture flickers ? That is something I would definitely ask about in this forum.
