Need a new DTS/Dolby Dig. Pre-amp - Sony TAE9000ES?

63.193.13.36

Actually two questions for the more learned:

I have a Sony TAE2000ESD digital Pre-amp hooked to DISH 500 satellite, 4 S-VHS vcr's (and a Panasonic World-1 multisys converting VCR for my overseas friends), Adcom GFA 565, 555, 545 amps, Yamaha servo-subs, Pioneer DVD/LD/CD player, Advent Large 25th Anniv. X 5 (Re-makes of the H. Kloss classics), 2 DAT's, Sony Dolby S cassette and a 32" XBR Sony TV.

1) I want to replace the Sony pre-amp, and I'm thinking about the TAE9000. Has anyone had experience with it and where did you buy it ($?). Any other suggestions in it's price range. As a Physician and engineer, I actually like complex things, so simplicity is not a consideration.

2) I want to buy, in the next year or so, a front projector. I will buy a 'data grade' projector as they are HDTV capable. I am seriously looking at the Texas Instruments technology DLP projectors. Has anyone had any experience with them, which one and where did you buy it ($?)
