Monster help needed

63.20.241.236

I have a Monster Cable HTS3500 PowerCenter line conditioner and have 3 questions for you who are more experienced than I (which is about all of you).

Question 1: Can you tell me (step-by-step) how I can use my A/V receiver remote (Yamaha RX-V992) to power up my Monster HTS3500 PowerCenter? I know there are directions on page 6, but they are gibberish to me and Monster Cable support has not been any easier to understand.

Question 2: I would also appreciate any help on telling me where to plug in each device (equipment list is below). I can’t quite grasp the logic of what goes where because I see contradictions: for example, I see only 2 video outlets on the Monster, 1 for a TV and the other for an A/V receiver, both unswitched, and nothing for a VCR! Kinda hard to understand for a novice like me, since it seems different types of outlets (video, digital, etc) have different types of filtering (“for best results”).

Question 3: The meter is always towards the top (at about 122 volts) and doesn't move much. It may jitter a bit when a device is powered, but that’s about it. What's up? And how do I read the meter?

My equipment list is:
Receiver: Yamaha RX-V992
Power Conditioner: Monster HTS3500
TV: Sony Wega KV-27FV15
Cable box: Scientific-Atlanta 8610X (but will be digital when available next year)
DVD: Sony DVP-S7700
VCR: Panasonic PV-S9670
CD: Sony CDP-CA80ES

Thank you.
