Isn't Superbit dead?

I thought Sony abandoned Superbit, or at least stopped making new ones, since they weren't selling well. I admit, I do like them.

Care to explain that?

I agree on the one format. Both meet your requirements though.
SD: 640 X 480 = 307200 pixels
HD: 1920 X 1080 = 2073600 pixels
That's a 6.75 times increase.
The TVs are out, you just don't own one.
