Re: hdtv antenna's: need advice

Hi there

Unless each UHF antenna is bandwidth-limited by using filters, you would not want to combine antenna signals. You would need to use an antenna switch. The spacing needed between antennae is beyond my knowledge base.

UHF and VHF antannae can be used for NTSC and ATSC reception. There is technically nothing special about an "HDTV" antenna. Most digital TV broadcasts are in the UHF band.

I've not seen a "vhf hdtv" antenna, but since ATSC will only be broadcast in the upper VHF band (and UHF, but not the lower VHF), then such an antenna might only have elements for the upper VHF band?!?

Note: the Channelmaster 8-bay UHF antenna is capable of also receiving the upper VHF band.

Regards
