video connections

Since the DVD player's best output will be YPbPr (component), use this connection on the player.

Does the video card have the option of sending digital video levels (16-235) to the display, as opposed to digital PC levels (0-255)? If so, I'd go with the DVI output as PC levels clip below black and peak white signals (that's a bad thing). If it doesn't, check the output from the YPbPr component connection. If it allows for below black and peak white, use that connection. If it doesn't, I would try both of the options on the video card (DVI and YPbPr component) and subjectively decide which output gives you the better picture.
