If the HDMI board would make a big difference in the picture I'd be willing to shell out $200. I already have component video cables, but would have to spend about $50 on an HDMI cable.

Where we're using the plasma we will never be watching from closer than 10', and most viewing will be more like 12' to 14'. The room and furnishings won't cooperate with any closer viewing distances.

From what I've been reading, the HDMI hookup won't make a difference at these kind of distances. Of course, I haven't seen this with my own eyes.

Should I get a player with HDMI, use component for now and not worry, then if we set it up in a smaller dedicated room later get the HDMI card and cable?
