They are going to discontinue the 60g player when stocks, that have been sitting around, are gone. The more expensive 80g player will take its place. The new one will be less backward compatible because it won't have the "Emotion Chip". It'll be cheaper to make.
I guess Sony was hemorrhaging money too badly (?).
