I normally hang out in the vintage audio asylum but need to ask a question here.

I rescued a vintage NEC ImageSmart IDC-1000 Improved Definition Converter from a local Goodwill this afternoon. If I had not bought it, it would have been picked apart and that would be a shame. Because this looks like it has never been used. Still in the box, the cables are still sealed in their bags, the rack mount ears are not on the unit and everything seems to be in the box. Not a scratch on it anywhere.

I did find out this originally sold for about $4400....any idea if this would still be useful to anyone? There is a beat-up IDC-1000 on that auction site, but it has zero interest...it's in pretty bad condition.
