Home Video Asylum

TVs, VCRs, DVD players, Home Theater systems and more.

Actually, it sounds semi-credible to me

I don't leak confidential info myself, because I figure "what goes around, comes around", but if I were inclined to do so, I might also post from anonymously from a public place where my IP address could not be traced back to me. So that part of the posting rings true to me.

What motive could Warner have to make such a move? Getting paid off works both ways ;-)

A true BD-Live (aka "Profile 2.0") title for early 2008? Chances are just about nil, because aside from announced but unreleased players from LG and Samsung, there's nothing which even claims to support the spec yet. You can get picture-in-picture with Blu-Ray Profile 1.0 by including a complete 2nd video track, and that's exactly what Pixar apparently is doing with "Cars". This is a no-no because you potentially wind up with 50 gigabyte disks and STILL get lossy audio + video. Much much better to do this properly under Blu-Ray Profile 1.1, I think.

Overall, who knows? Wait until tomorrow like the message says, and see if anything happens, I guess.
