Follow up to my original post: I ran a test using 1 BluRay disc and 5dvds. Of the 5 dvds, 3 of them are having problems with the menu screen. They all perform flawless in my Sony and Panasonic dvd players.
I'm trying to understand how this unit plays DVDs (not BluRay). It advertises as a player that can play standard dvds. The problem is that the remote will not allow you to navigate the menu screen. There are no physical buttons on the player itself to navigate w/o the remote. The bottom line is that if you can't navigate the menu screen just to select the 'play movie' option, then the unit does not play standard dvds. Am I missing something??
