has faithfully played every disc I have thrown at it...DVD, HD-DVD and Blu-Ray. I notice no problems with the picture on standard DVDs.
Some of the high def (either format) does not look as sharp as some others. Why that is I have no idea, maybe poor mastering or whatever it is that they do.Some of the discs are truly magnificent.
More as time goes by....
