what's the deal on dvd selections??!

As I continue to build my dvd collection (about 20 so far) I am starting
to get a little concerned about the selections available.
I would love to enjoy some favorites in dvd format such as: Jaws, Jurassic
Park.......and for pete's sake BRAVEHEART!!!
Would someone offer me a lucent explanation as to why these and others
are not out yet....There seems to be no problem finding obscure titles...
some of which I enjoy...
But, I sometmes find it a little frustrating when showing off my system
of which I have quite a bit of $$ invested, and someone says "That's
awesome!!! Do you have.....???" And I say NO.....But let me crank up
Top Gun....I am sick of Top Gun!!! (frustrated) I want a two ton T-REX
stomping across the living room!! I want William Wallace and his army
of angry Scotts charging full steam across the field of battle, engaging
the Englsih with skull crushing ferrocity!!!!
Someone please give me an explanation....as to why??? And a ray of
hope....as to when??? -skip
