Many people in the early part of the decade said similar things about Sony. They were as confused about the PS2 and its profitability as you appear to be about the PS3, which most respectable analysts predict will be the biggest selling console over the next 10 yrs. The only thing possibly standing in the way of that is if a next generation Wii comes out that boasts processing power/graphics capabilities similar to the PS3 and can convince developers focused on the PS3 to make games for it.
