I believe what you're after is a video stabilizer to defeat macrovision - It'll be a device you plug into the video chain between the source and the recorder. There are many, ...no idea which is good/best, but there'll be tons of Google info if you search terms like *defeat macrovision*, *video stabilizer macrovision vhs dvd defeat* etc.
