If there are two or more HDMI inputs on the Sharp, make sure you've chosen the correct one.

There's a chance that either on your Denon or Sharp that you need to tell the machines to output and accept a 1080 signal. I know that my Dish Network HD box will not output 1080 unless I tell it to, could be something like that in the Denon and/or the Sharp. You mention you used to use the Denon through your old TV thru DVI, but was that an HDTV or just 480i? In which case, I would think that's why you used to see a DVD signal and not anymore, and therefore the problem lies in the DVD player's video output setting.

Maybe that 3910 owners can chime in on this. Keep us posted.
