HDMI inputs..

I am going to wall mount a 720p LCD flat screen and intend to serve it from a local dvd player (component video) and HDMI source from a remote 4x2 switch. The HDMI feed with be either a 1080p player in our adjacent theater or cable/direct tv/dish network. Here's my question. The HDMI feed will contain video AND audio information but I don't want to use the flat screen's speakers...rather external speakers driven by a pretty good amplifier. Will I have to run separate audio cables from my theater AVR or remote cable box or can I in some way take audio outs (RCAs) from the flat screen? I probably should know this but your feedback would be much appreciated.

thanks.
