Some thoughts on the Sony KDS - R70XBR2

Has anyone seen the Sony OLED 27" display at CES in January? Judging by the awesome pictures it looks as if the other technologies are on borrowed time, although OLED may be some time coming to market in a large screen TV.

But for the present I 've settled for Sony's KDS-R70XBR2 SXRD set, which I purchased several months ago. When set up correctly the XBR2 SXRD will produce a natural, 'real-to-life' picture (with 1080i/1080p source material) that I've yet to see other large screen TVs equal. The KDS-R70XBR2 SXRD is not perfect though. I'm not overly enthusiastic about its scaling abilities with SD material. But for HD this TV can produce absolutely stunning results. Watching VOOM channels on Dish Network is a real trip.

I'm wondering if its worth getting a scaler such as the DVDO iscan VP50 as the Sony's scaling abilities in SD are not that great... Feedback on this would be welcome
